South Norfolk Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan (Reg. 19 Pre-submission Draft)

Representation ID: 2391

Received: 21/02/2023

Respondent: Mr Brendon Bernard

Legally compliant? Yes

Sound? No

Duty to co-operate? No

Representation Summary:

Access to the site via Hamilton Way is not sound. The restrictions on vehicle traffic and the Primary School, make the use of this narrow road for 60 houses ( including the 25 being built now 2019/1925) Inappropriate. At the time of the 2019/1925 planning review it was agreed by planners that there must be an alternative access, to avoid vehicle congestion for any future development to the North of 2019/1925.

Change suggested by respondent:

Alternative access is easily available - via Thwaite Road and or Waveney Road.
Thwaite Road would be the most suitable, directing traffic away from Hamilton Way and the village centre, with clear vision right and left and avoiding pedestrian traffic.
Waveney Road was designed with a ready made access point for an extension -which is owned by the SNDC, suitable for all traffic and pedestrians.
Plan is available if you want more clarification
