South Norfolk Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan (Reg. 19 Pre-submission Draft)

Respondent: Bunwell Parish Council

Representation Summary:

We fully support this approach, however, caution needs to be exercised where sites have multiple dwellings planned for potential self-build. Experience has shown that instead of the usual phased roll out with a single developer, the multiple construction of all site dwellings at one time can bring congestion, excessive noise and chaotic conditions to main village thoroughfares and local residents.

South Norfolk Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan (Reg. 19 Pre-submission Draft)

Representation Summary:

Settlement Limit extension should be supported for 'self build' development as there's a potential to offer better designed homes near other properties that are not restricted to meeting policy 79. NPPF state Councils should give appropriate provision of self build and custom is clear (Housing and planning act 2016), but I find all of the supporting documents GNLP,SNV CHAP and the JCS development planning document which these will replace silent on self build.
