The Green is a constrained country lane which would not support the extra traffic involved. The road is subject to common flooding, even after moderate rain and would not be fit for purpose even after the recommended Highways alterations.
No to this development

Improving the road system in the village to cater for further homes would put the road at risk of heavier vehicles cutting through the village, which is already a problem. The road has poor visibility with sharp bends to negotiate. The junction at The Green can be dangerous and to add further junctions on these bends at the proposed development sites would add to the danger along Hackford Road.
This proposed development would increase commuting (to work, school, college, shops, surgery etc) through and out of the village. The construction would also add heavy and noisy HGV traffic.
A reduction in the scale of development to reduce the potential stress on roads. There is little employment and no shops, post office or surgery in this village meaning this proposed development will increase road use to adjacent communities to commute and access their facilities.

Hackford Rd already threatened by increasingly dangerous/busy traffic (getting heavier and driving faster) including heavy lorries, supermarket/other deliveries, and increasing and irresponsible parking outside the school car park. Infrastructure inadequate - single-track roads for miles around except Hackford Road where double bends are unsighted. The traditional heritage and amenity value to all villagers and those passing through is bound to be damaged by the anticipated works. Numbers of new-builds now appear modest but more already intimated – thin edge of the wedge that will further damage/destroy Wicklewood as a traditional Norfolk village.
There's scope for more infill housing and that would save the expense and the damage to Wicklewood's traditional village ambience that the proposals imply. Stick to that as Wicklewood's contribution to the overall plan, as it's within the existing planning boundary (that I understand the proposals aren't). Proposals suggest modest numbers but there's already a published desire for significant extension to whatever is allowed - and that will destroy the ambience and character of Wicklewood as a traditional Norfolk village. My comments at 45.1 are all relevant, and having attended a recent Parish Council meeting I agree with their views.
