All new housing development is putting a strain of the capacity for sewerage works to be able to safely deal with increased capacity. Also extra housing is leading to more water being used , and the increased use of either water from rivers or abstraction is reducing the flow of freshwater down the river Yare and more frequent and severe saltwater incursions
