Representation Summary:

The Lead Local Flood Authority objected to 2022/1993 Outline Planning Application due to inadequate consideration of the flood risk for this GIL1 site.
This area of Gillingham has had extensive recent changes including large areas of hardstanding at Daisy Way development and by the recent service area extension (nearby across the field). In an area known to flood, these developments need to settle in to the landscape such that their effects are understood prior to further development. There are current applications 2022/1897 and 2023/0187 that will add hugely to the hardstanding and local flood risk. Cumulative effects will cause problems.

Change suggested by respondent:

This site should be removed from the Plan. This is due to the high flood risk in this area. The impacts of the recent developments of Daisy Way and the services extension are not fully understood given how recently they were constructed. As well as GIL1, there are two other substantial developments which have been applied for which will cover the entire field on the opposite side of the Street which will add substantial hard areas and flood risk to the local area.
