The plot New1 has not been finished and it is unknown if services can cope with this approved housing let alone any extra.
Lack of gp provisions/school places - both local surgeries and school can not cope with more residents.
Drainage! The village has issues when it rains heavily with run off, lessening surfaces that can hold water will not help this!! The sewerage struggles to cope if we have heavy rain now.
The environment-many important eco-systems are living in this area. I thought climate change was important to the council! It is extremely important to me and my child.

New 1, already has 30 properties planned to be built SN4024, a further 25 properties. Which means at least 110 additional family vehicles, together with all of the trade vehicles supporting these properties. Newton Flotman does not have the infrastructure to support the extra building. Most importantly, Alan Avenue is totally unsuitable as the access road, due to the number of blind bends with parked cars already causing serious inconvenience to existing road users. The volume of traffic if the 55 proposed properties are built presents a significant danger to children/elderly people, this will be an accident waiting to happen!

The Parish Council object to this site:
- the impact on local services including the doctors’ surgery and the village school
- the sewage system in the village is already showing signs that it is struggling with regular call outs noted, it is clear that the drainage and sewage systems are not adequate to cope with additional housing
- Alan avenue is not a safe access for additional houses, the road is very narrow and already suffers from parking on the pavements
- the detrimental effect on the Flordon Road/A140 junction which has already been identified as requiring improvement

We do not need a further 110 cars up and down Alan Avenue and then on to Flordon Rd. We do not need another 110 cars attempting to use the already busy A140 junctions. The infrastructure does not support these additional numbers.

Existing infrastructure can not cope including GP surgery and school
Additional traffic congestion down a residential area with cars already parked on the road and this would also put more strain on the A140 Junction which would require traffic lights or a roundabout to support additional volume
Site traffic has no way to access site without disturbing village residents

I object to the development on site SN4024
The local GP surgery is already at capacity as well as the local school.
The damage to the local wild life,
noise and air pollution , the increased traffic on an already busy road and increasing risk of damage to parked cars.
There is a local playground directly on Alan avenue which would also be affected by the avenue being used as a thoroughfare.
Sewage systems for the area are struggling with the current capacity.

You will be ruining a small village with extra housing which it can neither support or needs. The GP surgery has waiting list back log, the school is only small, and will be over subscribed and the roads around the village are busy enough as it is. The land you are using will go from a haven to native wildlife to built over concrete. How does this help our environmental goals, in a week when we have been warned of the perils of global warming...The population of this country is decreasing so why the need for extra housing?

Lived in the village 46 years and no longer feel safe walking due to current traffic and people parking on the paths. It is an accident waiting to happen. Didn’t agree with the original Alan Avenue construction. The roads are too narrow, people park on the path. The words are windy with blind spots because of parking. It’s an accident waiting to happen
Developers make broken promises about improving roads. A140 / Flordon Road junction is dangerous with the added hazard of cars on the streets. There are no facilities in the village. No more houses

There is already insufficient GP services. It is currently very difficult to get an appointment at Long Stratton Medical Practice without the additional 165 people. Flordon Rd / A140 junction already dangerous without 110 extra cars. Parking is will become very difficult and it will be unsafe for our children to play out/cycle. The village school will not be able to accommodate the extra children.

Primarily on the grounds that the junction onto the A140 from the Flordon Road is already too dangerous to support the additional traffic that these properties would create. The capacity of the services and facilities are already insufficient to give a good level of service to the village. Alan Avenue is already difficult to access due to the amount of parked cars. At peak times access up and down the avenue can be very difficult. During the winter the angel of the road and the restrictions of the winding road makes access sometimes impossible.

Regarding the potential plans to build extra housing on Alan Avenue, Newton Flotman, I am concerned that Alan Avenue itself cannot cope with more traffic. The entrance of the road from Flordon Road is very narrow, curved and steep. Many residents park their cars on the road which limits the amount of cars that can pass at one time which would be made worse with significant extra housing. If the road had been designed differently then extra housing may not be an issue.

Extra traffic will be very detrimental! Already my car has had a near miss from a lorry . Just 5 surveyors cars blocked access a couple of weeks ago . Imagine the impact of more . Children will not be free to play safely anymore . We have two play areas before the main park and already it’s not sufficient for our needs . The potential extra vehicles from extra housing will be a disaster.

Increased traffic to Alan Avenue, Flordon Road & A140.
Local services already full (Schools and Doctors).
Water, sewage and surface water drainage.
Impact of development virtually doubling in size on the local community.
Access to site given the number of cars parked between the site access and the Flordon Road creating pinch points.

SN4024 Objection:
a: Alan Avenue does not have the capacity for another 110 cars, plus construction traffic. Narrow blind bends with high kerbs and parked cars already make it difficult.
b: School at capacity and no GP Services other than a Pharmacy.
c: Flordon Road/A140 Junction is already dangerous due to bus stop positioning, business/arts school entrances all sitting on the junction.
d: Wildlife impact, Lots of various birds, plus other species.
e: Approving another 25 dwellings based on overstated Services/Amenities without knowing the impact of the 30 already approved in NEW1 is a mistake.

I strongly object to farmland and wildlife habitat being lost to development, what has been a relatively small village is fast becoming large and sprawling. Local services are already stretched and open space is being diminished. In our area, apart from the playing fields it is only the margins around farmland that can be used for dog walking, leisure walking etc., with even more farmland being lost our options are reducing.

Reagrds site SN4024. As per my other comment on question 96 there is already a difficult and unsafe road junction onto the a140 which would only be made worse by additional housing. Roads are also already very busy near a children's play area and this would only increase traffic past that. There is also only a limited local shop which will mean either grocery delivery vehicles or residents vehicles will have to make regular trips to larger shops, again creating more traffic and pollution in the area.

Disruption caused by construction traffic and increased car usage of Alan Avenue (a very narrow access road) with a children's playground adjacent. Owing to the bends in the road and the speed of the traffic the accident likelihood will be increased especially as the NEW1 site has been approved already. Local services are not coping and this will make things worse. Certainly the approval of this site will lead to a further redefining of the settlement boundary and more land to the west of this site will be rezoned for housing in the future causing more air pollution and noise.

I am shocked at this proposal. I live at and own No. 67 Alan Avenue and I object strongly that this proposal is suitable. The narrow road of Alan Avenue is already a problem, with cars parked along it making it almost impossible for moving vehicles to pass. Lorries frequently mount the pavement to pass and particularly outside my property, being on a bend in the road. More traffic of potential new residents would be far too much, nevermind the traffic of the lorries and builders. The infrastructure of the village is unsufficient, especially the GP Practice.

Strongly object SN4024 as a preferred option due to already critical infrastructure in the area. No functioning GP surgery, no permanent post office, no local shop, no pharmacy and no dental surgeries. The school is unable to accommodate the current number of children and there is no secondary school. This means we have to travel outside the village to do the most basic tasks in already terrible traffic with significant delays. The current proposal will eliminate wildlife in the area. Construction of houses will also cause a significant disruption to local residents and children.

I strongly object the proposed SN4024 option because it will disrupt families living in the village as well as getting rid of animals that live in the area. The village would not be able to facilitate the new residents as there currently isn't any local shops, GP surgeries, dental surgeries and there isn't enough space in schools. The roads are dangerous and the traffic is heavy, which causes significant delays to people trying to do basic things. It is already challenging enough and will get critical if new houses are built in the area.

Village is overdeveloped without the neccessary underlying structure, i.e. post office, school, transport or shops - the roads are packed. It is at a critical level the village is not coping.

Green no major ecological constraints identified from desk-top search. Surveys, and biodiversity enhancement in accordance with policy required.
Site comprises field at edge of Newton Flotman, adjacent to NEW 1 (existing allocation). Bounded by hedges, which are a priority habitat so losses should be avoided, minimised and as a last resort, compensated for. No other priority habitats are identified (see MAGIC). Site within amber/green habitat zones for great crested newts. Site not within a SSSI IRZ. Applications for planning consent should be accompanied by a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal/Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) which, together with the mitigation hierarchy, should inform the design. Consideration should be given to delivering Biodiversity Net Gain.
