South Norfolk Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan (Reg. 18 Draft)

Representation ID: 1124

Received: 01/08/2021

Respondent: Mr Peter Kershaw

Representation Summary:

This is not a sustainable development: there is no public transport, no local shop and almost no safe cycle or pedestrian provision, generating additional road traffic, adding to the risk of injury or death to the many using The Street and Cow Lane on horse/bicycle/foot. The area is commonly subject to surface water flooding which additional hard surfaces will exacerbate. There is no B1135 in Hapton but the road is busy, with large vehicles, excessive speeds and a narrow blind corner at the east end. The Long Stratton bypass development will fulfill statutory targets in a more sustainable manner.
