Little Melton will, once the development opposite the school is complete, have already had 110 new houses added, which is significantly more than the proposed 10-20 dwellings that were allocated to the village in the most recent plan. The current shop is unlikely to be open for much longer due to a sale of the property, which would mean that Little Melton is then no longer a service village. Traffic problems already exist and are exacerbated by increased development very close by in Hethersett.
