South Norfolk Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan (Reg. 18 Draft)

Representation ID: 710

Received: 27/07/2021

Respondent: Mrs Dawn Turnbull

Representation Summary:

Do not increase current settlement limit. Additional housing would add burden to current infrastructure, to sewers, with water directed to drains rather than soak aways, affecting aquafers, reducing pervious surfaces supporting natural drainage, increased flooding, standing road water. Degredation of rural/agricultural land, consequential environmental, ecological and economic damage. Government are committed to the protection, conservation and enhancement of green belt land, except in exceptional circumstances, the development of this area isn't 'exceptional'. Greater demands on rural roads, additional traffic accidents (particularly Flordon Road/Ipswich Road junction), and utility networks, already be operating at capacity, overburden on GP and dental practices.
