Ditchingham Parish Council OBJECTS to further houses being built north of Rider Haggard Way, if the only exit for these 35 houses is through the present development and Hamilton Way. Highways approval for the Hamilton Way exit as the only exit for 55 houses has not been supplied. Further development on this site should provide an access via Thwaite Road and Waveney Road, which would reduce traffic using Hamilton Road and the village. Also reducing the risk traffic accidents near the Primary School during term times (see map attached).
The issue of upgrading the Ditchingham Water recycling centre has not been addressed.

I fully support the application off Lambert's Way. It will be a single low impact self-build property by a person who has lived locally for many years, the plan is for an eco friendly home of a high standard that considers climate change & reducing energy demand.

It would be favourable to the area to have local people able to build sustainable housing instead of larger housing developments by big companies. This really is supporting local communities to help themselves and keep working people in the area as land prices rise.
It is important that people have their housing needs met rather than build what we think people need. These smaller developments help link communities and empower them to be involved in local decisions.

Small individual developments would support the local area and economy and put no strain on the infrastructure. This would be ideal for low impact, self-build developments which should be encouraged given the current climate crisis. Design features could focus on sustainability and low emissions.
We are also in a cost of living crisis and small affordable housing is hard to come by, especially for young people living in the area.
Fully support.

- seems appropriate to infill a small amount of affordable housing in a residential area. Would help support local facilities like the shop, community centre, park etc
We need more small, affordable properties for local people
-need to reduce number of people forced to rent

Low impact, self build properties meet the need for affordable housing for locals whilst respecting the environment in ways that larger developments often fail to. I am more than happy to support this proposal

I know a person who is applying to build a small, sustainable home on this land. She has already done a huge amount of work to improve the land and encourage biodiversity. She has strong links to the local community. Allowing a small amount of high quality, low impact development on this land would be a positive step.

Small sustainable builds are needed in all villages, especially now, to provide economically viable housing for low income small households.

Ditchingham Farms Partnership object to the plan because site reference SN0345 has not been allocated for housing. The site has no constraints to development. The site is very well related to the built-up area of Ditchingham. New homes on the site would reflect the existing pattern of development in the village. They could be integrated into the existing landscaping on the site without the need for extensive new planting. A high quality vehicular access is available and the Development of the site can improve pedestrian connectivity in the local area.
The Greater Norwich Local Plan provides a ‘minimum’ housing requirement for the area of 1,200 homes. This allows flexibility in delivery. It is important that a range of
sizes and types of sites are provided to deliver a range of housing for local people and to support local house builders.
To make the plan sound further sites such as this one should be allocated in order to provide a wider range of opportunities for local housebuilders.
