The site provides :-
- Improved landscape adjoining the existing village boundary on two sides.
- Road safety improvements to the B1108 junctions around Back Lane & Cock Street
- Significant flood mitigation delivered via catchment ponds and drainage retained on site to reduce water flow into the village from road and field run off.
- Provison of a 7ha publicly accessible open space in the form of a new Country Park
- On site sewage treatment and rainwater catchment
The site is deliverable and viable enabling the requried housing to provided in conjunction with major benefits to Barford.
I support the proposed allocation because is it currently accepted as a reasonable alternative site to accommodate future planned housing growth. The site has previously been selected because it provides :-
- Improved landscape provision of housing adjoining the existing village boundary on two sides.
- Road safety improvements to the B1108 junctions around Back Lane & Cock Street though improved vision splays, road and access widths
- Significant flood mitigation delivered via catchment ponds and drainage retained on site to reduce water flow into the village from road and field run off.
- Provison of a 7ha publicly accessible semi natural open space in the form of a new Country Park at no cost to the village of district.
- On site sewage treatment and rainwater catchment for environmental benefit which avoids adding to the existing main infrastructure which near capacity.
The site is deliverable and viable enabling the requried housing to provided in conjunction with major benefits to Barford.

Promoting the site alongside public benefits including delivery of public semi-natural open space, highways improvements at Back Lane/Watton Road junction, and flood mitigation for Watton Road.
Already a 'reasonable alternative' and therefore good location to meet shortfall.
Site and area for Country Park all owned by client and can be released immediately. Consider this site only deliverable site in Barford.

Site cannot be released immediately unlike SN0552REVC.
Question deliverability and effectiveness due to use with Village Hall and recreation ground. Subject to 38 year lease and registered charity.
Not considered reasonable alternative. Would require termination of lease and consent of charity commission.
Equivalent re-provision cannot be delivered with 25-30 dwellings including affordable dwellings. Sport England will object.
